closerlook, inc. founder and CEO David Ormesher chosen to lead Lyric Opera of Chicago

closerlook, inc., founder and CEO David Ormesher was recently elected president and CEO of Lyric Opera of Chicago. Ormesher, a current member of Lyric’s Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and chairman of the Innovation Committee will continue to lead closerlook with agency president and COO Jon Sawyer as he takes on this new role with the Lyric Opera. 

“I’ve been privileged to have been involved with Lyric for many years,” said Ormesher. “I have a great passion for opera and its potential for impacting culture. I'll bring that love for Lyric and my financial and business experience as an entrepreneur to … help build a creative tour de force.”

Ormesher founded closerlook, inc., in 1987 and has taken it from a small, creative media boutique agency and grown it to a recognized leader in developing innovative marketing solutions that help pharmaceutical brands build and maintain relationships with the most valuable healthcare professionals.

“Dave’s past and present involvement with the Lyric is laudable, and we’re excited as an agency to share his entrepreneurial leadership, skills and expertise with such a cultural institution,” said Sawyer.

In addition to his leadership at closerlook and Lyric, David is active on several non-profit boards. He serves on the boards of MATTER Chicago, the Poetry Foundation and the Lurie Children’s Hospital Foundation. He is also the founder of Bigger Future, a social enterprise dedicated to building the capacity of high-potential entrepreneurs in Rwanda.
