The CORE Center, founded by the Cook County Bureau of Health Services and Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, is a first-of-its kind, freestanding, specialized outpatient health care facility. The CORE Center’s mission includes the prevention, care, and research of HIV/AIDS and other related infectious diseases.
closerlook partnered with CORE to develop an engaging kiosk-based e-learning environment, called COMET–Community and Minority Education and Training Initiative for HIV/AIDS. The system provides clinical content, tools such as a Pill Planner and Drug Interaction Checker, and patient learning modules. The goal of the program is to empower HIV patients by improving their communication with healthcare providers, optimizing adherence to treatment programs, and maximizing patients’ self-care.
