The tech community seems to be abuzz with set-top boxes that will allow you to stream rented movies straight to the TV. Apple TV and Netflix’s new device are the biggest names being thrown around. I wonder why nobody has mentioned the similarly priced device that has already been on the market for years. The device offers Movie downloads (old and new releases), TV Shows, and even Sundance Short Films.

Give up on what this mystery device could be? Well, it is the XBox! Not only does it offer movie rentals at a cheaper price than Apple TV, it also plays games when I’m tired of just watching TV. It is true that Apple and Netflix already have established libraries which ensures that they will still be useful. However, XBox has a surprisingly large selection of movies that are cheaper than the pricing currently laid out for Apple TV.
