Most people never think about what they read. By that, I mean the physical shapes of letters we see every day. But designers, marketers, and branding pros do think about letters. A lot. Probably more than is healthy. In fact, we think about typefaces so much, we form clubs to discuss their merits.
One of the most notable, The Type Director’s Club, released their list of Best Fonts of 2007 recently. A panel of experts in the field choose their favorites from thousands of entries. Their results typically shape design trends – past winners are just now becoming visible in visual communication worldwide.
