  1. As seen on the street

    June 12, 2007

Google has begun to release their latest wacky idea, the street view. This new functionality enhances the current google maps by letting you see pictures of the surrounding area as seen from the street, allowing the user to pan and zoom with these images.

Admittedly, this capability is pretty awesome. I can not only get directions somewhere, but also acquire visuals of what that place looks like, or at least what it did look like at the time the picture was taken. Some people however do not think this snapshot of time is a good ideal, claiming it is an invasion of privacy. Perhaps that’s because they were caught doing something they shouldn’t be in public. Either way, it is amusing.
