While visiting the table held down by Chicago publishers Featherproof Books at the Printers Row Book Fair, I had occasion to peruse Degrees of Separation, a book of 33 detachable postcards created by graphic designers who have some connection to New Orleans. Each postcard depicts an experience of Hurricane Katrina or its aftermath. It’s a great idea, and a handsome volume.
On Tuesday, June 19th, Featherproof will host a book-release party for Degrees of Separation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Suzanne Cummings gallery, which is located at 630 W. Webster. Chat with the designers, and then join them down the street at The Apartment for New Orleans-style tunes and more NOLA hoopla.
