If you don’t have the Flash player installed, you can still see most things on the site.
But you’re just going to miss seeing the really good stuff.
I haven’t really been keeping up to date on Adobe Director for the past few years and to be honest, I fully expected Director to fade into the shadows when Macromedia was acquired by Adobe. I guess I was wrong. Adobe just announced the latest release of Director and it appears to be targeted more at the online game developers than anyone else. The new release incorporates DirectX 9 for native 3D rendering and a built-in physics engine called AGEIA™ PhysX™. For a few years, Flash seemed to be cannibalizing Director and I had hoped Adobe would just incorporate some of Director’s best features into the Flash player. There have been rumors of the next version of the Flash player supporting 3D and physics, so I’m interested to see if the cannibalization of Director will continue until the products are eventually merged.
