How many different email accounts do you have? Have you ever noticed that an HTML email looks different in Gmail than in Yahoo? What if it was your job to make sure that those emails looked the same not only in those two email clients, but a dozen others as well? This near Herculean task may just be getting easier, thanks in large part to the Email Standards Project.
Frustrated and tired with the rendering of HTML across email clients, these people have decided to fight back. Their first step was to measure the current state of HTML support in 14 different email clients. The results were categorized, and constructive feedback was created to indicate what future features would help the various email clients. Hopefully the developers of these email clients take this advice to heart, and the task of coding an HTML email will become a little easier.
