But you’re just going to miss seeing the really good stuff.
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has recently partnered with Google to be one of 25 U.S. cities that will display public transit information when google-ing for directions. Googles initiative to integrate public transportation directions into their current services began at the end of last year in San Fransisco. Since then cities like Las Vegas, Sacramento, Austin, Honolulu, and now Chicago have been added.
While the Chicago El stops have been indicated on the Google maps for some time, perhaps this will help all the clueless suburban Cubs fans. Every time there is a Cubs game they relentlessly ask, “Is this my stop?” every time the El pulls into any station. To make the experience even easier, Google has provided a demonstration of how to use the new public transit capabilities to find Wrigley Field (hint, hint).
Clueless suburban fans aren’t the only ones who can benefit from the new feature though. Chicagoans that want to travel East -> West (or West -> East) can now use Google to find out which bus to take, and verify that the bus still runs at 2:00 AM (when they are stumbling home from that bar across town).
Hooray, everyone wins!
