Missed Opportunity

While performing errands on the north side of Chicago this past weekend, I came across an odd site. About 40 people had congregated in a parking lot and were being filmed while talking to someone holding a MetroMix microphone. I was curious to know what was going on, but was too shy to wander up and ask one of the observers what was going on. Instead I chalked it up to some political rally or demonstration of some sort, and continued with my errands.

Today, I discovered what was going on. It turns out these were the people getting ready for “No Pants Day”! Had I inquired about what was happening, I could have joined in the revelry and ridden the train pants-less for Chicago’s first “No Pants Day”. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to keep my eye open for the next one. Hopefully the weather will be a bit warmer though. January doesn’t seem the ideal month for not wearing pants.
