In the 2005 business book Never Eat Alone, author and consultant Keith Ferrazzi states, “People who instinctively establish a strong network of relationships have always created great businesses.” That was evident today in Mumbai.
A cousin of Sanjeev Ahuja, closerlook’s VP of Client Services, introduced us to a leading pharmaceutical executive who, after hearing about our experience and unique branding and relationship marketing services, gave us personal introductions to the top executives of the top ten Indian pharmaceutical manufacturers. Then on the spur of the moment, he picked up the phone and called the Secretary General of the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association and asked him to meet with us, in the next 10 minutes… That led to a very fruitful discussion and more leads, and the network expanded.
From there we traveled to the exclusive, 125 year-old Bombay Club where we ate and drank and were introduced to numerous industry movers and shakers. We met three leading physicians who agreed to meet with us and provide insight into the unique challenges of the Indian health care industry.
While we eat, the network of relationships grows again…
