Obligatory CES post

Although there was not much exciting news that came out of CES 2008, I feel compelled to call attention to a couple things. In my opinion, the most exciting showing came from iriver. Although most of the stuff they were showing were prototypes, it was some really nice gear. Beautiful hardware paired with elegant software interfaces meeting great functionality has a very special place in my heart and they delivered it in spades. These devices are hot and I am particularly interested in the Unit II. I like that these devices have the Flash player built in which makes development much easier. The question that is continually asked is, “Why can’t some of these other companies design as well as Apple?” Well, I won’t be asking that question anymore. I will still ask why other companies can’t market as well as Apple.
