But you’re just going to miss seeing the really good stuff.
I can’t believe I’ve gone this long before needed to replace one of those new fangled compact fluorescent light bulbs. I’ve been using them for years now. And one finally burned out.
They’ve done a great job training me on why it’s important to use them. And you can even get some free through the government. But here’s where the ball (or lightbulb) gets dropped. No one tells you how to dispose of these buggers. Apparently it’s dangerous to just toss them in the trash like you do with old-school bulbs.
Ironically, I will be making a special gas guzzling trip out to 1150 N. Branch to dispose of the bulb. The city has only one location where they can be abandoned. Judging by the displays at Home Depot there will be a whole lot of people needing to drive there. Now that the city is giving bulbs away, they really should come up with a better plan for their disposal. If not then there’ll be a little more mercury in the trash – just what we needed.
