But you’re just going to miss seeing the really good stuff.
I know it gets dirty and slushy and then it freezes overnight and the next morning I slip and my Starbucks goes flying and my elbow is sore for a week, but I still love snow.
When I was eight, we moved into an old rambling farmhouse with 27 acres and it snowed three feet and we learned to pack snow into cardboard boxes to make building blocks for an igloo and then tobaggon down the hill onto our frozen pond where dad had built a huge bonfire and then trudge home after dark and lay our soaked clothes on the hissing steam radiators and sip mom’s scalding hot chocolate and my tongue was sore for a week.
That’s why I love snow.

Jeff Scher, a filmmaker from Brooklyn, created a beautiful short called White Out. It’s a dreamy paean to snow, and it so reminds me why I love snow.
