But you’re just going to miss seeing the really good stuff.
A collective of Chicago crime fiction writers, including my pal Kevin Guilfoile, has started a blog called The Outfit. Fans of the thrillers and crime novels—and writing in general—who visit The Outfit will find satisfying peeks into the lives of these writers, as well as the process of writing books and bringing them to market. But the blog’s contributors take on issues beyond the art of writing and the business of publishing.
Libby Hellman takes on the problem of the nature and distressing familiarity of evil. Guilfoile uses the trial of Frank Calabrese, Sr., as a lens for his examination of murder as a commercially justifiable business tool in mob culture.
So visit The Outfit. As all of its contributors are authors, this blog might be your introduction to the next author—and next book—you’ll love.
