  1. 'tis the season...

    January 8, 2008

Time Out Chicago featured an article on Design for Democracy in the Art + Design section of last week’s issue, letting an even wider audience in on the secret of how important design is.

After being horrified of the messy ballot issue of 2000, they realized that design played a huge role in clearly communicating the election process to people. To help make voting easier for everyone–and help eliminate errors in such a huge decision–the ballot and the polling place materials were in great need of a makeover. Design for Democracy set forth to redesign the entire election process. On June 14, 2007, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) helped Design for Democracy reach their goal in altering the election experience for the better. And, of course, what better way to share this revelation than to write a book?
