Update: Searching for events abroad

Ever-reliable closerlook colleague Cynthia Coakes pointed out to me that TimeOut London was one source for overseas events that I hadn’t explored.

Those who read my previous post on this subject may remember that the functionality I was looking for—and having difficulty finding—on Parisian and Londonian event sites was the ability to establish a date (or range of dates) for which a list of relevant events would be served. While TimeOut London enables a search “by date” from the front page, that functionality only operates on a single-day basis for the following six days. For dates further into the future, search options are limited to “Days 7-14” and “Days 14+.” Specific dates can then be chosen within search results for both. However, the specific-date options are not sufficiently far into July to include the dates of my trip. So, I’ll be able to use TimeOut to find goings on in London. I’ll just have to wait to do it.

TimeOut Paris has no event-search functionality of any kind so far as I can tell, so the search for a Parisian events site with search-by-date functionality continues. If you know of one, please do email us at blog at closerlook dot com.
