A few weeks ago, we outlined some best practices for live blogging here at Work + Play.

A week or so after that, I posted about the rockumentaries being screened at SXSW, a lineup that includes Lou Reed’s Berlin, in which the former Velvet Underground frontman plays his landmark recording live.

Coincidence one: Work + Play bloggers Jeff Cenna and Abby Covert ended up going to SXSW.

Coincidence two: Lou Reed live blogged.

Do you have chills? Are the hairs standing up on your neck? Is Work + Play entering a state of synergy with the cultural zeitgeist?

    Perhaps. Then again, perhaps not.

Reed’s live blog of the boxing match between Sultan Ibragimov and Wladimir Klitschko isn’t archived in it’s entirety anywhere I can find, but a survey of what can be found reveals that Lou followed at least two of the best practices we identified here. He blogged bottom to top. Though each post didn’t begin with the time, it did begin with the round, which seems to accomplish the same end of identifying the part of the event to which the post refers. Lou also limited his use of quotations, though my guess is he didn’t have much opportunity to quote the combatants. He did, however, make the most of his ringside seat by taking these blurry but compelling photos.

I kinda have a blog crush on your work. Lovin’ the blog – and your musical taste and movies, etc.
