But you’re just going to miss seeing the really good stuff.

I’ve been serial-monogamous about food blogs over the past year. When I got bored with the stolid and trusty Martha Stewart’s Recipe Finder, I moved on to trendy and spontaneous Tastespotting. I eventually grew weary of Tastespotting’s near-constant barrage of edgy cupcake recipes. Enter cookthink.
Featuring an excellent blog and some gorgeous photography, cookthink’s real standout is their Recipe Mapping Project. Users select any combination of tags from the Ingredient, Dish, Cuisine, and Mood categories, and the site matches a recipe from cookthink’s database to those specifications. It’s definitely not perfect, even somewhat perplexing—a search for pho turned up zucchini soup. And when I selected “literary” as my Mood, and it gave me Creamy Succotash. However, the range of recipes from simple comfort-food to the more esoteric, along with the pertinent prep tips alongside each recipe, make it well worth the visit.
