  1. What is Zoid?

    December 19, 2007

No, it is NOT the text based interactive computer game developed circa 1979 (that’s Zork). It IS however a game created by none other than Futurama creator, David X. Cohen.
    Qix Game

According to an interview with Wired magazine, Mr. Cohen was a huge arcade gamer in his younger years. After playing a game called Qix (also one of my favorites) he was inspired to write his own game, which he named Zoid. While the game never made it public, Mr. Cohen still owns the 5.1 inch floppy diskette he copied it onto. The legacy of Zoid lives on in one of Mr. Cohen’s other creations though, as the character Zoidberg which was named after the game.
